In honor of my favorite character, Winnie the Pooh, here is a recipe for cute and healthy honey bees, a great snack!
Winnie the Pooh Honey Bees
From: Mrs. Thomas's 6th Grade Family & Consumer Science Class
Ingredients
1/2 cup peanut butter (Use sugar cookie dough for people with allergies)
1 tablespoon honey
1/3 cup nonfat dry milk powder
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
2 tablespoons wheat germ
2 teaspoons cocoa powder
2 tablespoons mini semisweet chocolate morsels
2 tablespoons sliced almonds
Stir together first 5 ingredients. Roll about one tablespoon of dough into the shape of a football and place on a pan covered in wax paper. Continue until all the dough is used. Use a toothpick dipped in cocoa powder to press the "stripes" of the bee onto the dough. Use chocolate morsels for the "stingers" and sliced almonds for the "wings"
Place pan in refrigerator for about 15 minutes, then enjoy!
NOTE: Make a big batch and store in covered container in fridge - will last for weeks!
